I have always been fascinated by the beauty of Himachal Pradesh. More so, because I have heard stories from my maternal grand-mother about Garli, Himachal Pradesh. It is a hamlet in the Kangra Valley. My grandmother and her siblings were born and brought up in Garli. The memories run afresh in my mind as I write about Himachal Pradesh.
Himachal Pradesh literally translates to “snow-laden province”. It lies nestled in the cradle of Western Himalayas. It is bordered by Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Tibet Autonomous Region and Uttar Pradesh. It is a paradise for travelers and adventure enthusiasts alike. It is known for its scenic beauty. It is blessed with pristine rivers, lush green valleys, bountiful meadows and snow-capped peaks.
Apart from the beautiful hill stations such as Kullu, Manali, Shimla, Kasauli, Dharamshala, Dalhousie, Chamba, Khajjiar etc. Himachal Pradesh houses various pilgrimage sites as well. It is well connected by road, rail, and air.
